My name is Jennie, and I met Colin on the Facebook Dating app December of 2021. I jokingly say I met him on Facebook Marketplace. When Colin and I first met we quickly realized we both shared a passion for the outdoors. We enjoyed lots of hikes the first few months together. We both had wonderful memories of camping throughout our lives and intended to create camping adventures together.

A few months into our relationship I was scrolling through Facebook Marketplace and found a listing for a 1968 Aristocrat Lo-Liner travel trailer for $300!!! Redoing a vintage camper was something I had aspired to do. I knew redoing a vintage camper would be quite costly and finding one at a reasonable price is nearly impossible.

I quickly responded to the ad!! I immediately offered more than she had listed the trailer for. I knew the trailer would go fast and I didn’t want to lose out on this opportunity! I stalked this listing like my life depended on it!! The seller was very slow to respond to me. Later I found out she had been inundated with messages interested in this vintage gem! I pleaded my case to her… by the grace of God she picked me out of over 100 people to take on the responsibility of bringing the Aristocrat Lo-Liner back to life again! The very next day we drove down to pick her up! I was giddy with excitement!!!

I had a dream and Colin helped make it come true!

When we got the trailer home, I knew immediately we had to name our newest family member!  She was cute, sweet, little and elderly just like my sweet Maw Maw! We named her Leola after my great grandma! It was the perfect namesake! I have a picture of Maw Maw and I together when I was quite young and she's wearing a blue dress.  I knew Leola had to be a beautiful blue!

We assessed the damage and quickly realized this was going to be a larger project than we had originally thought. We reached out to Mike and Debbie at White's Nursery in Germantown, Md. They had a large pole barn we could restore Leola in.

Being able to have a large space protected from the outdoor elements was a godsend! Mike had all the resources we needed!! A barn full of wood, tools and a friendly helping hand! Lots of weekends and late nights returning Leola to a leak proof, sturdy CLEAN travel trailer.  It took us close to a year to fix Leola up. She was a complete rebuild!

Colin and I sure did test our new relationship! There were many highs and lows of this project. At times feeling defeated and a few days later feeling like we were on top of the world! Conquering hurdles and reaching each goal we set in place helped mold our relationship into a trusting, caring, committed, and lifelong love! We happily said “I Do” on May 22,2024!

LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN!!!
